Just FYI, 14 is incorrect. The area within 2σ from the μ is .95. The remaining area is .5, which you divide by 2 because we are only interested in negative numbers.
ReplyDelete@rachael.lynne, the area within 2σ from μ is 0.9545 with the remaining are being 0.0455 for both sides or 0.02275 for the left side where z < -2. Just check the z-table!
